The first session of the First Tee Summer Camp at the Waikoloa Village Golf Course runs from June 15-17 for ages 7 to 17. The second session runs from July 13-15.

The hours are 9-12 and the cost is $60.

Student Photography Competition

The Shops at Mauna Lani  is excited to announce their first ever Student Photography Competition to support Big Island Students grade 6 – 12.  They will be giving cash scholarships of $500, $300 and $200 to the students of the winning photographs.

Entries will be accepted until April 15, 2016.

Photos will be on display nightly on April 22 to April 30, 2016, Suite 306 from 3pm to 8pm (Mon 4/25 & Thurs 4/28 hours will be from 3pm to 5pm, Wed 4/27 will be from 5:45pm to 8pm.)

Awards ceremony will be on April 30, 2016 at 11 am.

17th Annual Waimea Healthy Keki Fest Apr 16

17th ANNUAL WAIMEA HEALTHY KEIKI FEST: Sat., April 16 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.  Parker Ranch Center.  For Keiki 3-12 along with their families.  A fun, free day with more than 30 learning booths offering educational and interactive discovery activities to help develop healthy brains, bodies and beings. A wide array of hands-on activities related to safety, the environment, fitness, health, mind and nutrition and each child will receive a “passport” to track their participation at each learning booth.  This event’s mission is to bring the schools and community of North Hawaii together to celebrate the health and safety of our greatest asset, our keiki. Jr. Introduction to Golf Day Apr 10 Mauni Lani Resort

Juniors ages 6-14 are invited to participate in the Introduction to Golf Day  on Apr 10 at the Mauni Lani Resort from 10 am to 12 noon.

It’s a great way to be introduced to the game of golf, or for the more experienced golfers to start their spring season. The morning features lessons by Mauni Lani Golf Academy staff. Refreshments included. Space is limited for this complementary golf clinic. Sign up early by calling 808-885-6655.

March 26: Waikoloa Easter Egg Hunt Ho’oko Street Park

The Abundant Life Ministries, More Than Enough Ministries, and Kipuka O’ Aloha are sponsoring the Waikoloa Biggest Egg Hunt on Saturday March 26 at the Ho’oko Street Park. They’ll have 5,000 eggs for 4 age divisions. The first hunt starts at 9 a.m. and each hunt takes no more than 15 minutes.

Keiki ID, food by Los Tres Mex, and face painting available for FREE.

Bring your camera and a basket or bag for the eggs.

Joseph E. Spadaro Memorial Scholarships

Friends of the Library – Waikoloa Region (FL – WR) is providing Joseph E. Spadaro Memorial Scholarships to sponsor one or more Kealakehe High School graduating seniors who plan to register as full time students at Hawaii Community College in Hilo in these courses of study for either a CAT or an AAS:

  • Auto body repair & painting
  • Automotive mechanics technology
  • Carpentry
  • Diesel mechanics
  • Machine, welding and industrial mechanics technologies
  • Electrical installation and maintenance
